Gujiya

Gujiya is a popular Indian sweet, especially made during festivals like Holi and Diwali. It consists of a crispy, golden pastry shell filled with a mixture of khoya (reduced milk), sugar, and dry fruits like cashews, almonds, and raisins. The dough is shaped into half-moon pockets, sealed, and deep-fried until crispy. Gujiya can also be flavored with cardamom or saffron for an added richness. Sometimes, it is dipped in sugar syrup or dusted with powdered sugar for extra sweetness. Its crunchy texture and rich filling make it a favorite treat during festive celebrations.
